Imagine if you could only wear one piece of jewellery (besides from your wedding or engagement ring if you have one) for the rest of the year, then what would it be? It would be devilishly hard to choose I am sure particularly for the ladies.
I think most people would pick some piece of jewellery that was very visible if this was the case, as obviously a nipple ring or toe ring or navel jewellery, although great if you like that kind of thing, would probably not be your first choice of jewellery.
The best way to choose would be first to think of your favourite pieces of jewellery and make a note of them all and lay them out on your bed. Then think of the pieces that you really do not like doing without and take the rest out of the equation. Next choose the ones which are the most versatile in that they look good whatever outfit you are going to wear or whatever occasion it is whether it be work or a casual night out or a more formal setting.
By now you should not have a great deal to choose from!! From there I would just use your instinct and choose the one which makes you feel good when you wear it. Of course this is all make believe as you will never have to make such a choice but it is actually good to do this as it gives you a good idea of a hierarchy for all your jewellery so that you can put your more essential pieces in one box, put your versatile pieces in another box, the rest of your favourite pieces in another and all the others in another box (you may feel that you could do without some of the remaining items and sell them on or give them to charity). So this can be a good exercise for you.
I suspect most people for their one essential piece of jewellery would pick something like a favourite necklace or bracelet or maybe their favourite earrings or ring. As I do not wear any jewellery at all this is totally irrelevant to me!!
